No new Chelsea deal for Mikel

A representative of  John Obi Mikel has cleared the air on suggestions that the Super Eagles star is in talks with Chelsea over a new deal.
The defensive midfielder is enjoying a new lease of life under manager Guus Hiddink leading to speculation by the Daily Mirror that he is set to be offered a new contract.
But there is no word from the Stamford Bridge suits if Mikel’s contract which expires at the end of next season would be renewed.
“Chelsea have not yet offered Mikel a new deal,” Mikel’s rep briefly told allnigeriasoccer.com.
John Obi Mikel would have turned 30 by the time his contract with the Londoners expires in the summer of 2016 and the English Premier League champs have a policy of offering only one – year deals to players over the age of 30.
The former Lyn Oslo starlet has played nonstop at Chelsea for 10  years.
