RMAFC wants laws establishing Finance Ministry, FRSC, NIMASA, 29 others repealed

By Favour Nnabugwu THE Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) wants the laws establishing the Federal Ministry of Finance, Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) and 29 revenue generating agencies repealed. Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun The Commission in a letter to the National Assembly signed by the acting chairman, Mr. Shettima Umar Abba Gana stated that the laws establishing the 32 agencies were creation of the military and must be made to conform with democratic norms and practices. According to the letter, “The laws establishing the agencies contravene the provisions of Sections 1(3) and 162(1&10) of 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).” The 29 other generating agencies are Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), National Agency for Food Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Securities and Exchange Commissio...

Ibrahim Magu Omokore, an active player in the oil sector during the previous administration, was taken in by EFCC last week to assist them in unraveling how his firm won oil swap deals running into billions of dollars, and whether such money had been remitted to the coffers of the government. Mark Zuckerberg boasts he can change a nappy in 20 second

Facebook founder and chief Mark Zuckerberg, whose first child was born in November, on Thursday boasted that he could change a nappy in 20 seconds. “I am competitive guy, I time myself to get and better, and I got down to 20 seconds,” the 31-year-old told an audience in Berlin where he was receiving an award from German publisher Axel Springer. Mark Zuckerberg “The trick is to slide the new diaper under the old one,” he added. Zuckerberg’s Facebook page, which is “followed” by more than 43 million people, regularly features pictures of him with his wife Priscilla Chan, baby daughter Maxima and pet dog Beast.
